Communications Manager - Opera Software

Location: Delhi / Mumbai / Chandigarh

Opera Software is looking for a born PR star, someone who gets a thrill by sharing a powerful story and by teaming minds to build something greater than itself. The right candidate will have a positive attitude in working with a global communications team.

Responsibilities

This position is for the self-motivated. You will weigh in on your assigned projects and will self-manage your work to produce results.

Regular activities include media and analyst relations, conference management, and project proposing and planning. We encourage creativity, so you will be sure to have fun. If you are the right candidate, you are passionate about the role PR can play as part of an overall marketing strategy.

You are also an experienced strategic thinker who can further develop and customize Opera’s messaging platform for the Indian market.

Note on location: Ideally, the candidate should be based in Opera’s office in Chandigarh; however, candidates based in Mumbai and Delhi are encouraged to apply, as well. Successful applicants from these locations will be required to spend a minimum of 3 to 6 months in Opera’s Chandigarh office.

  • Prepare executive briefings for media interviews, conferences and other brand-related speaking engagements.
  • Consistently monitor media to identify issues and trends that need to be addressed; leverage insights to protect and promote Opera’s brand.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in the effectiveness of PR/marketing practices.
  • Keep a constant dialogue with bloggers, journalists, analysts, suppliers, partners and agencies.
  • Plan, manage and evaluate Opera’s presence at industry events and trade shows.
  • Plan, manage and evaluate PR and analyst relations programs.
  • Compose press releases and other marketing materials.

Requirements

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, additional language fluency highly desired.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • The ability to thrive and execute as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field)
  • Proven experience with social media, viral and/or Internet marketing.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience within tech industry (Internet, telecom) preferred, but not required
  • Three to six years of experience with PR/marketing
