Its pay for performance contextual advertising network provides a unique platform for advertisers (who want to reach targeted users) and for publishers (who want to monetize their online inventory) to come together and do business. Position: Director Products / Sr. Product Manager

 

Location: New Delhi / Gurgaon

 

Ideal candidate: Having BE / BTech / MS / MTech / PhD in Computer science or equivalent from Premier Institutes (eg. IIT/REC, ITBHU, BITS) MS/MBA a plus

 

Job Description:-

o Owner of product performance through ownership of all the variables (optimization algorithm, targeting requirements, creating product specifications for the tech team to execute)
o Lead the development of the product vision, the integrated
view of how the product will serve the needs of the customer while
building lasting value for the company.  This includes defining the
consumer value proposition, mapping the long-term product and business
strategy, and planning the development, release, and growth of
products.
o Serve as the arbiter of quality, and decision maker around
trade-offs between features, resources, and time.
o  Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle: conceptualize,
prioritize internal requests and requirements, write product
specifications, drive product development through close interaction
with engineering and related teams, and coordinate with both customers
and a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team to deploy product
o  Create and maintain an ongoing product roadmap and product
schedule for client’s products/infrastructure and APIs Market feedback from customers (advertisers and publishers) and what product enhancements need to be setup and benchmarked into the product performance
o Setting up a team of data analytics & usability managers, all of whom will be giving you inputs that will make for a better product performance.
o Identifying and closing strategic relationships with external partners where additional user data captured will increase the relevancy of our ads
o Understanding the ad network/media business and acting as a bridge and influence the technology team into developing something that takes care of all these variables.
o Oversee special projects (data analysis, surveys, and competitive evaluations) & roll back regular feedback from publishers and advertisers back into product development, and thus acting as a link between the tech & business teams
o Initiate newer targeting, optimization, ad serving logic techniques to improve product performance and control the creative, media, ad serving logic, controls, tracking, logistics influencing product performance
o Develop new products, prioritizing features in the product life cycle, and creating the product’s unique differentiation against competitors worldwide.

 

Profile preferences:

o Experience in defining and delivering commercial products,
and working across the entire product lifecycle.  Experience in
delivering to international markets is a plus.
o Someone with a very strong grounding in technology and who loves algorithms, but with an equally sound understanding of the way the media business is conducted.
o Extensive experience working closely with multi-
disciplinary teams including marketing, engineering, QA and UI design
teams to drive product definition and development
o Ability to prioritize among many competing alternatives and
plans, balance customer needs with business priorities, and articulate
the rationale behind decisions
o Exceptional organizational, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
o Must be team-oriented and collaborative with the ability to problem-solve proactively and deal with multiple priorities
o Self-starter that drives deliverables to outstanding execution who will have excellent work ethic with leadership skills and able to build his own team
o 6+ years of experience with at least 2 years of product and/
or program management experience. Software development background is
essential who understood the Ad Network, search and online media industry. Platform development experience is a plus
o US or UK NRIs who are looking to come back will be preferred.

 

About Online advertising/Ad networks:

An advertising network is one of the most promising online industries in India today. Online advertising in India is growing at a 60% growth rate annually to close at USD 75 million in 06-07, though within that – the ad networks subset is growing at twice as fast the speed of the industry. Typically, in developed markets like the US, ad networks have a ~20% share of the total online advertising industry (USD 16 billion in 06-07). An ad network is a platform which serves as a mediator between a group (network) of web sites (which want to host advertisements) and advertisers which want to run advertisements on those sites. Google Adsense, Yahoo Network, Doubleclick, are some of the most well-known advertising networks who have used their technology strengths to disrupt the way that advertising monies are spent.
